DANIEL H. KRUGER Dr. Daniel H. Kruger is a Professor of Industrial Relations at Michigan State University where he has been on the faculty since 1957. In 1977, he received the University’s Distinguished Faculty Award. In 1994 he received the Distinguished Faculty Award from the Michigan Association of Governing Boards of Public Universities. Each year this Board selects two faculty members from each public university to receive this honor. Dr. Kruger received his B.A. at the University of Richmond and his M.A. and Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin. He became an Assistant Professor of Management and Director of Commerce Extension Services at the University of Alabama in 1954 following graduation from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Kruger has served as a consultant to the U.S. Department of Labor. He has chaired the Michigan Manpower Programs. He has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Urban League. He has served on numerous committees and task forces within federal and state government. Dr. Kruger was appointed by President Reagan to the Federal Service Impasses Panel in 1982 for a five-year term. This Panel, composed of seven individuals, resolves impasses in negotiations involving federal agencies and the unions with whom these agencies deal. In 1987 he was reappointed for a second five-year term, and in May 1992 President Bush reappointed Dr. Kruger for an unprecedented third five-year term. He has served extensively as a fact finder and an arbitrator in both the private and public sectors. Dr. Kruger has written several books and numerous articles for professional journals in the area of human resources, collective bargaining, grievance administration and arbitration. Publications include: The Role Of The United States Employment Service In A Changing Economy, with William Haber; Collective Bargaining In The Public Service, Ed. with Charles T. Schmidt, Jr.; Occupational Licensing: Practices And Policies with Benjamin Shimberg and Barbara F. Esser; and Labor Law, Industrial Relations, And Employee Choice: The State Of The Workplace In The 1990s, with Richard N. Block and John Beck (1996). Dr. Kruger has traveled extensively and spoken to many groups in every section of the country on such topics as collective bargaining, arbitration, dispute resolution procedures, and human resource development and utilization. |
